L ubbock, Texas is located in Lubbock county on the northwestern tip of Texas. With a population of nearly 200,000 residents, Lubbock is one of the largest cities in the state. Due to its great location, the city enjoys a strong economy and affordable housing. More businesses and families are moving to Lubbock for many reasons, including 90% of sunshine year round. The public education system is exceptional. The Lubbock Independent School District is comprised of 60 schools and serves the educational needs of over 29,394 students annually. There is a very low student-to-teacher ratio in the classrooms, providing students with an excellent learning environment. Overall, the schools rate very highly and provide an excellent educational opportunity for the community children. Higher education is offered through four universities: Wayland Baptist, Lubbock Christian University, South Plains, and Texas Tech University. Texas Tech is the only University in Texas with both a medical and law school on campus. Lubbock is one of the best communities to relocate to in the entire country.
